Our Band

Foothills Caledonia Youth Pipe Band

Welcome to Our Youth Pipe Band!

Southern Alberta’s premier youth pipe band

We proudly teach and mentor young pipers and drummers aged 7 to 18, helping them grow through the rich tradition of pipe band music.

Many of our instructors are accomplished former members who bring passion, expertise, and a deep understanding of the band experience. With their guidance, our youth gain not only top-level musical instruction but also the opportunity to be part of something truly special.

Being part of our band means more than just learning an instrument — it’s about building confidence, teamwork, and lasting friendships. Our vibrant community is further strengthened by a dedicated parent association that supports our instructors and members every step of the way.

Our History

Our Story

A Little About Us

Prior to the fall of 2019 the Foothills Caledonia Youth Pipe Band was called the Ogden Legion Pipe Band.

The OLPB was originally formed in 1972. It was sponsored by the Royal Canadian Legion, Ogden Branch #154 in Southeast Calgary, Canada. Despite the closing of the Ogden Branch, OLPB retained the name and proudly continued to honour its legion roots. Building on this history, FCYPB continues to be Southern Alberta’s premier youth band. Though our name has changed our history remains. We are thankful to all the many members of years past and look forward to a bright future.

Our Tartan

The Royal Stewart tartan is associated with the royal House of Stewart, and is also the personal tartan of Queen Elizabeth II.
